LANTERN CHANDELIER "CHANTERN"

I really was looking to get a beautiful chandelier over the sink in my 1963 Shasta. All of the ones I found were made of plastic prisms. I just don't feel they have the same sparkle as the cut glass ones. Plus my intention when I brought my 'TIN TIARA" home was to use all recycled and repurposed materials. I also want an option other than electricity in case I ever want to "boondock".

So off to the craft room I went to see what I could come up with. I found an old Sparrow lantern in the garage (fire engine red). Red was not going to work, so I took the glass out, and painted it off white, then antqued it with mocha glaze. The rest is a blurr of wire, glue and misc. gems. Her is how she turned out...

Here is before ...

You can go to Michaels or Hobby Lobby, and anywhere with jewelry making supplies, get some thin wire, and drill holes where you want bling. If you glue anything onto it, use E6000 glue , and only use where it doesn't get really hot.....Good luck! Stop by my group, and show us yours, we would love to see it! Bitches with Hitches
